"Fantastic midwives"

About: St James's University Hospital

I had my daughter in November 2012 and as this was my first time in hospital and my first child I was very anxious. My midwives on the labour ward were fantastic I can not praise them enough. My two dedicated midwives stayed with me though out my labour and birth (8 hours) and supported me through a drug free labour (although I had some wobbles) They also supported my husband after I had complications post labour. The theatre staff, anaesthetist were all very calming, supported & talked me through what was happening. The post labour ward was clean, I had a private room which I requested and got no problems. All the staff were polite and cheery including the nurses, coffee lady and Mr who fixed my TV. I researched both LGI & St James, both have mixed reviews, I chose St James in the end because it's slightly nearer and we no had problem with parking and I wasn't having a water birth (only available at LGI). A Great hospital with friendly and fantastic dedicated staff.
