"Two referrals and both times it took longer than the 5 days stated"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

This is the second time I have been referred to TRAQS and neither time I have been contacted within the 5 days stated on the form.

I know that the 5 days is from the time that you receive the referral from the GP but in this age of technology I find it hard to accept that this takes more than 3 days which would give an eight day wait for contact.

I would strongly recommend that the wording of your explanation leaflet merely said that patients will be contacted "as soon as possible." Then the expectation and subsequent disappointment would not be so great.

Dear 'Cairo861'

Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Upon visiting your GP, your practice has 3 working days to dictate and forward your referral onto TRAQS. TRAQS aims to contact patients within 5 working days of receipt of the referral from your GP Practice. However, the delay may have occurred between your attendance at your practice and them forwarding the referral on to TRAQS. As all feedback is anonymous I am unable to identify the point at which the delay occurred.

Many thanks again for taking the time to write to TRAQS.
