"C section"

About: Southend Hospital

Anything else?

Arrived in the Maternity Unit at 7am on Wed 11th Dec 2013 for a c-section. Unfortunately, due to the number of emergencies, I didn't go into theatre until 5pm so was starving and thirsty, having not eaten or drunk anything since the evening before. However, the staff were nice, always cheerful and made the wait more bearable. They were very apologetic and they put me on a drip as I was getting a headache and dehydrated. When I got to theatre, all the theatre staff were really friendly, and put me at ease, especially the lovely lady who was in theatre and looked after me in recovery afterwards whilst I was being sick!! All so nice and cheerful despite being so busy. Was in one of the side rooms afterwards and once again we were looked after really well, it seemed so busy yet the staff were all great. Was dreading being in hospital for a few days but it really wasn't bad. Food was fine and jugs of water and tea were bought round regularly as well. Just want to say a big thank you to all the staff who looked after us on that day. N Carter

Dear Ms Carter, Firstly may I congratulate you on the birth of your baby. I hope you are both doing well and that you are not being kept up too much at night. I would like to thank you for your kind comments and for telling us about your experiences. These will be fed back to the teams that cared for you who I know will be pleased to reveive the feedback.
