"Sincere Gratitude"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

Anything else?

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctor and his team for the excellant care they gave me. The doctor is highly skilled but also has compassion and takes time to explain what is achievable. My recovery is ongoing. Spinal surgery is complex and I am very hopeful and very grateful there are such brave brilliant people willing to help the many unfortunate people with the excruciating pain associated with spinal problems. I do find the waiting between appointments frustrating and the overall time between GP referral and surgery contributes to more suffering, but that is not in the control of the wonderful consultants or nurses. Anyone unsure of going ahead with treatment at the Neurosurgery Department RVI can be assured, in my experience, they are in safe hands.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive message regarding the care you received in December 2013.  We have passed your feedback to your doctor and the wider team of staff so that their hard work is acknowledged. We are disappointed to note that you had a long wait between your appointments although we are pleased that this did not detract from your overall positive experience.  Long waiting times for neurosurgery can occur due to high demands placed upon the service although we acknowledge this is an issue and is something we are working to improve. I would like to wish you all the best for your ongoing recovery.
