Anything else?
I attended the endoscopy department of this hospital on 2nd January 2014. I was absolutely frozen sitting around wearing only 2 theatre gowns. I was given important instructions relating to my after care at home, whilst still in the pr8cedure room and under sedation. The result is I am at home with no idea about what I am supposed to do. I rang the department this morning for advice. The advice I received was totally inappropriate, but at least I have the common sense to know that. The nurse who discharged me handed me a form. She did not go through it with me and there were things on it that I do not understand. I did not havemy blood pressure checked once following my sedation and procedure. I have slept the day away in bed. I cannot remember a thing the consultant said to me. I think my instructions should have beenn written down or expkained to my husband. I wish someone would teach some of the nurses how to relate to patients. I was described by one nurse to another as the. lady having a siggy, I assume she meant a sigmoidoscopy. It is demeaning to be referred to in this way.
