About: Basildon University Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

My elderly father of 88 ,was put into HORNDON ward last wednesday, and I think it is absolutely appauling what the four patients in that ward have had to put up with ,drilling ,banging and workmen going in and out whilst they are improving the ward. There is no tele or radio for the patients, there is no curtains in the shower or mirrors. The staff have a radio going day and night,.One of the workmen today was sawing with an electric saw,and whilst he was wearing a mask,I hate to think of the dust floating around in the ward.I hope my father will be released soon, because spending a week in that ward is just not acceptable.I myself have been an in-patient in Basildon hospital a few times over the years, and have always found the hospital to be above average, but I am afraid to say, that the using of this ward is disgusting.
