What I liked

I was recently admitted to Elsdon Ward for a simple procedure requiring anaesthetic.As a nurse,I am always looking for areas that could be improved on in an NHS experience.The whole experience was A1;from the tea lady apologising that she wasn't able to offer me a cup of tea as I was nil by mouth to the theatre staff who treated me with kindness and understanding.I know people will say this is their job,but we are quick to put our complaints into a letter but not so quick if it was a positive experience.Congratulations to all the staff on Elsdon ward,you work hard to provide a pleasant atmosphere,which certainly reduced my stress levels.Even when I phoned to see if a bed was available,I was in two minds about actually turning up.But the Sister was so genuinely kind and said she looked forward to seeing me soon,I thought it woul be rude of me not to go!Thank you one and all for restoring my faith in the thought that the NHS can and does work,from someone who had perhaps bcome slightly jaded with it all.
