"Excellent emergency care at Tameside General Hospital"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I recently suffered a severe asthma attack and went to A&E at 3am in a very distressed state with shortness of breath.

I was immediately triaged by a very reassuring charge nurse who then whisked me through to resus where two very calm and competent nurses and a registrar started to stabilise my condition. I was then transferred to MAU, clerked in and given further treatment before seeing a Consultant a couple of hours later. My condition started to improve steadily throughout the day and I was then transferred to Ward 5 for an overnight stay until I was declared medically fit for discharge.

I would like to pass on my appreciation and thanks to everyone who contributed to the excellent standard of healthcare I received but most of all to the wonderful nursing staff on MAU who worked so hard to care for every patient under their care - they are truly angels!

Thank you for taking the time to pass onto us these positive comments. I will ensure that these are passed to the teams concerned. I hope you are now on the road to recovery.

Kind regards
