"Empathic care at eye casualty "

About: Birmingham Midland Eye Centre (Bmec)

(as the patient),

Awful swelling and redness of eyelids, eye conjunctiva, vision also deteriorating. Over the counter treatments not working. I am a GP so a bit hesitant to add to the A&E workload.

Efficient triage by nurse, seen on two occasions with worsening symptoms. Specialist eye casualty at Birmingham City Hospital. Nurses and doctors were empathic and caring. I spent about £35 on various prescribed medications! Generally very happy with service to me and my family.

What a nightmare ailment - epidemic keratoconjunctivitis (viral).
