About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

Anything else?

This is the second time I have been admitted to the Derwent centre for a total knee replacement, on both occasions I have been treated with the utmost care and dignity as far as is possible when staying in hospital, I would have no hesitation on recommending the Royal Bournemouth Hospital for orthopaedic surgery should any of my friends or relatives be in need of treatment. My only complaint is the food it is obviously cooked in the main hospital and is brought over in containers which are not very effective therefore it is nearly cold when it reaches the patients in the Derwent Centre I find this unacceptable after major surgery when most people are in need of something to tempt them.

Dear Mr. Hall Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your stay at the Derwent. I am delighted to hear that you were treated with care and dignity and would recommend our hospital to family and friends. I am sorry that the food was not up to the standard we would wish for all of our patients and I will pass on your comments to the catering department. We welcome all the feedback we receive both positive and negative as we use this to inform and improve the services we provide. I will share your feedback with the staff at the Derwent and I am sure they will welcome your excellent comments - Thank you again for giving your time to share your experience and I wish you a speedy recovery. Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Experience
