"there seemed to be no time for patient centred care"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / General Surgery

(as the patient),

Recent overnight admission to surgical receiving ward. I saw - clean bedding stained (washed but stains not removed), curtains hanging off curtain rails, one pillow & thin counterpane, staff very nice but to me they seemed seriously overstretched & ill patients waiting too long for buzzers to be answered - I felt the atmosphere was one of depression, barely making-do and no time for real patient-centred care.

Dear ayrshirevisitor

Thank you for using Patient Opinion to give us your feedback from your recent overnight stay in the Surgical Receiving Ward at University Hospital Crosshouse.

I was saddened by it and I am sorry that you experienced what you did.

At the moment you are anonymous which limits what I can do to support you. However, I will be passing on your feedback to our Healthcare Manager who covers this Ward.

If you would like to discuss this further with me, please do contact me on 01292 513607 or on kate.macdonald@aapct.scot.nhs.uk.

Thank you

Kind regards

Kate
