"Emergency Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

Anything else?

Emergency abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery: Treatment, from reception to diagnosis, from discussions prior to surgery, the actual surgery itself, the critical care and the recovery afterwards could not be faulted. The main consultant surgeon came to see me four or five times after the operation, whilst other doctors came daily. Tremendous! With the solitary exception of one "Agency" night nurse - whose attitude I reported - the remainder of the staff - nurses, auxiliaries and cleaning staff - were very good: professional yet friendly. I cannot - and do not want to fault - the treatment I received: my life was saved!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. I am delighted that you found the service you received to be of the standard that we strive to provide for all patients. It is obviously equally important to let us know the negatives as well as the positives so that we can try to continuously improve, so I’m glad that you reported the one negative experience of your visit to the ward staff. I will ensure that the clinical teams and ward staff are made aware of your comments, and thank you again for providing feedback of your experience. Business Manager – General Surgery
