In May this year I was found deeply unconscious in a hotel room in York and was taken to the hospital. I was kept in intensive care in a deep coma for some weeks with an infection that had got into my brain. It was not until the end of June that I had recovered enough to be was moved to another hospital nearer to home. Thankfully I am now pretty much fully recovered, and I do not seem to have any long-term effects from the illness. I would like to thank my consultant and all of the team for what they did for me, and especially for their support for my family during this difficult time. My children still remember how kind and friendly the staff were at York when they came to visit me there! I am afraid I only have the vaguest memories of the hospital and it's staff, but I will forever be indebted to you for all your hard work and kindness earlier this year.
