(as the patient),

I noticed a small growth on my face and went to my GP. He said it was sun damage and would make an appointment at hospital. I did not see anyone for about eight or nine weeks which I was not happy about as my GP said it was potentially serious. When I got my examination, the doctor at Kilmarnock hospital was very good. She not only looked at my face but I had a complete body check. It was frozen and hopefully it will be ok, although it is still there. I have to go back for a checkup in three months but I have to phone her if there is any change in it.

Thank you for using Patient Opinion to tell us about the care you received at the Dermatology clinic in University Hospital Crosshouse.

I note that you said about the length of time you had to wait for a appointment, I am sorry that it took this time. You describe the care you received from our doctor as a really positive experience and I will be passing your posting onto our Dermatology department. Feedback is always well received and it's always nice to be told 'you did a good job'.

You say that although the small growth was frozen, it is still there, however to contact the Department over the next three months if you see any changes. This will give you confidence that we are always here for you if you need us.

I hope your checkup around March goes well and may I take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
