"No explanation of what TRAQS is/was"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

My referral was by my optician.

Optician said GP would contact me.

3 weeks passed, nothing. Phone GP surgery. Receptionist informed me 'you will have been referred on TRAQS' who will contact me. No explanation of what TRAQS is/was.

TRAQS staff made contact 4 days later and were very supportive - appointment now booked for January 2014.

Thank you for completing the Patient Opinion form.

It is disappointing to note that once your Optician had written to your GP, the Medical Practice failed to fully inform you that your referral would be managed by TRAQS or issue with our explanatory leaflet which would have given you fulll information about our service. From this leaflet you would have seen that TRAQS aims to contact you within 5 working days of receipt of your referral and I am pleased to note from your comments that this appears to have happened.

I hope your appointment early in the New Year is of benefit to you.

In the meantime, best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.

However, I am glad to note that following your referral TRAQS was able to explain the service we provide in full to your satisfaction and that you were able to make an informed choice regarding your appointment.

I am pleased that your experience has proved to be a positive one.
