"Admitted through A&E"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

Anything else?

Admitted on the evening of Friday the 13th Dec! Ambulance crew first rate; A&E Team very kind but what was most evident was the slick and professional nature of the whole experience. An assessment was made of my condition and I was transferred upstairs to the SAU. Examined by senior doctor in the early hours of Saturday morning and seen on Saturday afternoon by the consultant. Treatment started in A&E and continued throughout the weekend. I was recovered sufficiently to be discharged on Sunday afternoon. Nursing staff, both British and Overseas nurses, were a credit to both the QE and their profession. The Ward environment was calm, warm and I felt very confident that I was in the best of care. Thanks to the whole team. One recommendation, based on my experience on the ward, would be: It would, I believe, help the nursing staff if they had a simple card printed in the main languages of patients who are admitted to hospital. The card should ask: I am going to take your blood pressure and temperature. Are you in pain (with a score of 1 - 10) Do you need pain relief Do you feel sick Do you need the toilet/drink etc,etc
