"Poor communication"

About: Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital

Anything else?

I was very disappointed with the care i received. After returning from surgery, I needed to go to the toilet. The nurse said that I needed to walk but I couldn't because I was in too much pain. The nurse walked away without saying what she was doing and was gone for over 20 mins. I have low blood pressure after surgery and have to be monitored and kept warm. The nurse had taken my blanket off and had removed the call button. I got to a point where I felt that I was going to wet myself, I thought about getting out of bed but couldn't. Luckily for me, I had my phone near by and the number in my phone and so had to ring the main reception to get help! I was not allowed to stay in after my procedure although I was in exceptional pain. Inlet the hospital at a round 10pm that evening. Since then I developed an infection - E. coli as told by my consultant from an omelet I had. The care I've had is atrocious, lack of care promised return calls. Results of biopsy and gastroscopy taking over three months for the results to be sent correctly to my GP. I will never ever return to that hospital recommend it. If I was paying myself the care would have been different but I am paying in directly so why am I not entitled to the same level of care?
