"Concern re treatment in a&be"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Anything else?

My wife and myself were conveyed by ambulance to A&E on Saturday 7th December after a road traffic accident in which the car we were travelling in was hit from behind by a double decker bus. The ambulance crew could not be faulted and were concerned about my wife as she suffers from osteoporosis and when her blood pressure was taken it was high at 189. Her normal pressure is low at around 125. The doctor who saw her did a very short examination and diagnosed a deceleration/acceleration injury. He did not bother to take her blood pressure considering the results when it was taken by the ambulance crew. I found this very disturbing and unprofessional. I also told him that I had pains in my neck shoulders and back but he did not bother to examine me or even ask me questions. In fact I have since had to visit my GP to get some advice and assurance. On the whole I found the visit to the hospital to be very unsatisfactory
