I attended the Day Surgery Unit on 6th December 2013 for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy under the care of the doctor and have been extremely impressed with my care. Prior to the operation my out-patient appointments were all very thorough and re-assuring. On the day of operation the receptionists were friendly and welcoming. My named nurse made me feel relaxed and confident. She took time to explain things and had a really lovely manner. Both the registrar and anaesthetist also took time to explain things and answer my questions, and I felt very much treated as an individual and not just another procedure on the list. The recovery room nurse was very attentive and caring. Back on the ward my post-op care was exemplary, again the nursing staff being kind, caring and professional. I was given plenty of time to recover, given adequate pain relief and help when necessary. I would to say thankyou to everyone.
