"You were there for me when I hit rock bottom and had lost all hope. "

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am posting this on behalf of a Service User from Topaz Ward, the Female Admission Ward for patients with a Personality Disorder, within The National High Secure Healthcare Service for Women at Rampton Hospital. This is a thank you letter to the staff following the Service User being given the good news that she had been accepted for a bed on a treatment ward.

" Dear Topaz Gang, I just want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the staff for their support, encouragement, belief, faith and hope. You have been there for me when I was down, you were there when I hit rock bottom but not that you lifted me up when I lost all hope. When I was down, you were there, just being in your company made me a strong person. It has been great knowing you, and I never thought I would get the chance to reform as a character.

Staff never gave up on me, even at the toughest of times. I am glad to have met such a caring and kind bunch of people that genuinely do want to help, it's so incredible. I know I am only going next door but it seems a mile away. I just want to send a special thank you to my designated care team who have worked very hard with me to help to get me where I am now. I want to say thank you to the patients for being very supportive and understanding, I really do appreciate it all.

You have given me the chance to grow as a person and the space to grow in strength, thank you Topaz xxxx

On behalf of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team on Topaz, I would like to say a huge thank-you for taking the time to feedback such kind words about the level of care you have recieved in our Service. Your feedback will form part of our ward development programme. It was rewarding and yes at times challenging to observe your road to Recovery and I wish you all the best in your continued journey.

I would like to echo Martinas thanks. I know it means a great deal to the staff to be appreciated for the work they do on a day to day basis. It is a great example of how a compassion approach really has helped you come through some difficult times on your recovery pathway.
