My son was born at LGH on nov 4th I had previously had 2 children at Oxford John Radcliffe which was a wonderful experience however after reading bad reviews and being treated very poorly during pregnancy at LRH I was very fearful about having my baby in Leicester. However because of illnesses I could not get to Oxford and was booked in LGH for an induction. I got a call from a nice sounding midwive on Sunday 3rd as they wanted to start the induction a day early due to there not being many women on the ward I went in after 5pm and the midwive was very nice and I shared my worries with them regarding the procedure as after much research I knew that the pain you get from being induced is 10 times worse than natural contractions and after having 2 children already I new I could not handle that pain. But I was reassured that I could have an epidural and other pain relief and that being induced I was priority as they know how much more painful it will be. The first tablet was inserted at 8:20pm and I then saw that my husband could not stay after 10pm as I was in a shared ward and that really upset me as I was having contractions, I was the only one in the shared ward mind and we decided to pull the curtains and got away with him staying as I didn't see another midwive till the morning. The next day the contractions got closer together and worse but I was able to cope with the pain, I was told to go for a walk which I did and during this time lunch had come and gone and they never told me any times for lunch or dinner or the procedure all there was were little posters on the back of the door which was open most time so you can't see it, my mother in law had to complain for them to get me some hot food. I never saw the same midwive twice and never got handed over it seemed the nice midwive I had first never came back in, instead I had midwives who were cold and clinical no care what so ever. After 24 hours I was given a 2nd pill and this was after 9pm and I had my husband and mother in law with me who were my birthing partners, by this time the ward was full and the lady next to me had been in so much pain and kept asking to be checked and have pain relief and she was ignored and offered paracetamol (how on earth do they think that will take away the pain) she would cry and cry and beg but nothing, you could hear ladies screaming as they were in labour and I couldn't understand why I was getting more and more scared. Then after 20min the pain hit me it was excruciating I never felt pain like it, they had examined me prior to putting it in and I was 1-2 cm which wasn't classed as active labour but I know my body and I knew I was fully dialated and I was pushing with the pain. I told them and begged for gas and air and they would not give it to me as they said it was in the labour room and there was no way I was in active labour and when I told them to check me like the other lady I was refused and offered paracetamol which I refused
