(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was taken into hospital with breathing problems and a very rapid heart rate on Sunday evening.

It was quite alarming as she's never experienced anything like this before.

Even though the medical staff were fairly sure it was a severe chest infection, they did every test possible to finally rule out a potentially more serious issue.

They were all, without exception, reassuring, attentive, informative and helpful, including the paramedics who came out and took her into the hospital, the nurses and doctors in A&E and the ward staff when she was admitted for the night.

So the place is a little run down and needs a coat of paint in places? What matters is the care and the staff and for us, they got it right.

Thank you for such lovely positive comments it's always great to know that we get things right. We agree the place could definitely do with redecoration however like you say it’s the care to us that matters the most which we appear to have got right. Thank you for your positive feedback; it is so important that we are able to support patients and their relatives at a time when they feel most vulnerable and receiving such feedback reassures me that we are achieving this. By ensuring that there are good lines of communication and that you and your daughter had the right level of information, I hope helped to relieve any concerns or worries. I would like to add that the Medical wards have and are undergoing refurbishment with new furnishings and that well needed coat of paint! Thank you for taking time to share your experience and this will be shared with the staff.
