"A Very Late Review"

About: Burnley General Hospital

Anything else?

Having been diagnosed with breast cancer and the Surgeon being most accommodating with me on first meeting, things looked good. Things soon went pear-shaped. Conflicting results given soon after operation. No follow up treatment needed, and then I was told on the phone that I now need radiotherapy. Also told tumour bigger than first thought, then told tumour is the same size. The Psychologist I saw could not get dates right when I saw her. My breast nurse gave me no help at all. But credit to breast nurses they were awesome with me A+++. Also praise for ward 28 staff and theatre staff brill. Let’s hope things have got better now.

Thank you for sharing your experience of your visit. It is a concern that you felt that some of the treatment that you received was contradictory, but treatment pathways can be complicated and further detail would be required in order to fully explain the circumstances you raise. If you feel that you require further detail around any aspects of your treatment, please feel free to get in touch to discuss. It is good to hear that you had a positive experience with the ward and theatre staff. Best wishes for the future. Business Manager – General Surgery/Breast Care Services
