"My unexpected visit"

About: Whiston Hospital

Anything else?

I had an accident on the 23rd November when abroad. I had been attending Treatment Centres in St.Helens. unfortunately the condition of my wound deteriorated and I was referred back to My GP and ultimately to A & E at Whiston Hospital. This was on Monday the 2nd December. Fortunately for me, I have never been in the position of needing Accident or Emergency services before and was not sure of what to expect, naturally I was anxious. There was no need, within 15 minutes of arriving at A & E, I was triaged and within one and half hours had been seen by the doctor, the wound cleaned, and redressed. A further appointment was made for me to attend the Review Clinic the following day which I did. In the interim I had received a call from the Radiology department inviting me for an ultrasound scan at 10am that morning. I have attended the hospital on one further occasion and am due to visit again on Tuesday 10th December It is my opinion that the attention and services which I have received to date from the hospital are exemplary. It is a beautiful hospital with amazing, dedicated and caring staff. When you arrive, there is a feeling of being made welcome and of your needs being important to the staff. I cannot commend the staff who have dealt with me so far highly enough. They have been wonderful and I will always be grateful to them for their care and devotion. Well done Whiston Hospital and Thank you Jean-marie McEvoy MBE
