"Avoid as they are immensely unhelpful"

About: Bristol Royal Hospital For Children

Anything else?

My son has been a patient of this hospital for over ten years due to neurology reasons. We have been lied to and been pushed from pillar to post with different consultants, and they are totally disinterested. Even when my son has been very ill from his condition, he has been forced to wait or get no appointment from any consultant neurologist. I simply think that this service is poor and an accident waiting to happen. I have watched a mum dal with her child having a seizure in outpatients and nobody helped her or took her to a side room. This hospital is simply not good. For a better service go to Frenchay or even better! go to the Spire and pay because what you are getting here is not with having.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on NHS Choices. We are concerned to hear about your experiences and in particular that you feel the Consultants at the hospital are disinterested in your son's care and treatment. We would like to assure that this is not the case and would very much like to speak to you so that we can try to resolve your concerns. To do this we would be grateful if you could contact our LIAISE service (0117 342 8065 or 0117 342 8158, or email bchinfo@UHBristol.nhs.uk). Thank you again - we value your comments.
