"Penrice birthing centre totally amazing"

About: St Austell Community Hospital

Anything else?

I gave birth to my son at penrice birthing centre 7 weeks ago. I was nervous about having midwives I had never met helping me as my midwife wasn't working, I had no reason what so ever to worry. The whole team there were brilliant during the birth they were relaxed and positive keeping us informed of everything that was going on. The support after the birth was brilliant, every midwife we saw took time to get to know out situation well and gave help, advice and assistance with breastfeeding and didn't put too much pressure to breastfeed. They really listened to our wishes and helped us plan how to achieve them and work through our problems with feeding. They continued to support us 5 weeks after my son was born and were genuine in their well wishes and continued interest in our progress. I would recommend penrice to anyone, if I have another baby i would want to come back to penrice if I ever leave Cornwall.

Thank you for your feedback. We want to make sure that our teams know when they have made a positive difference, so we will pass your appreciation on to those who were involved in your experience of care. We will also pass on your comments to RCHT who manage the Maternity Service.
