Anything else?
I recently spent some time in the Violet Wills Unit as a day surgery patient. I have previously had many occasions (probably exceeding 11) where I have been an in-patient or day surgery patient in hospitals in the Bristol/Bath area. However, I can honestly say that I have never been treated as well as I have been in Torbay Hospital. The staff were very kind and efficient, working together as a team in a very co-ordinated and seamless manner. There was no waiting around or delays and I was spoken to by nursing staff and doctors in a very kind and reassuring manner. Everyone, without exception, went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and safe and I have to commend them all on their professionalism. I was never left alone for a moment before or after the procedures. Staff continually checked on me and asked me how I was feeling. The gastroenterology team were also exceptional and reassuring. I was treated by them respectfully and kindly and kept informed on what the general anaesthetic and surgery involved and how I would feel afterwards. Excellent. I have also attended outpatient departments in Torbay hospital and the waiting times have been minimal. I have always been shown respect and kindness at all my visits and have always been kept informed. Previous hospital visits, when I lived in the Bristol/Bath area, unfortunately, have resulted in frequent delays of up to 3 hours in outpatient departments and left me feeling on occasions as though I was just a number. I would like to thank all the staff at Torbay hospital who were instrumental in my care and well-being and odd as it might sound, I would have no problem seeing them again as I know I would be in safe hands.
"Exceptional care and kindness, pure..."
