"childrens a+e visit"

About: West Middlesex University Hospital

Anything else?

My daughter was sent to a+e from my GP as he suspected she was suffering from meningitis. We arrived at the hospital at 18:10 and was straight through at 18:15 . The lovely triage nurse was very kind and put all of us at ease . My daughter was suffering from a extreme headache , stiff neck and problems with the light. She also had mottled skin tone. After triage we was put into consulting room 1 where a dr came and examined my daughter for 45 minutes during this the examination my daughter lost sensation in some parts of her body mainly on her left side. The dr was very sensitive and did not make a huge deal of is and how serious it could be. She explained everything clearly and told us the best and worse possible cause and what was going to happen to rule every cause out. She arranged for my daughter to have pain relief immediatley and did not rush her for answers or myself. She continued to speak to my daughter throughout and i found her very kind and caring. My daughter was sent for a CT scan and the porters were wonderful with her . At only being 8 years of old she was very scared but they made her laugh and feel at ease. The man doing the CT scan was very nice and explained every thing to my daughter and i the whole time. The nurses that took my daughters blood were kind, patient and caring. I have visited a+e several times as my daughter has ill health and never before have i had such a great experience. My daughter came in contact with nearly every nurse on shift that night and the all treated her with care, humour and kindness. The staff were very polite throughout the visit and nothing was to much trouble for them . I would like to thank every one of them for everything that they did . They made me feel assured that my daughter was in the best care even though having a menegitis scare is scary and upsetting . They made sure i was cared for and informed me constantly . My daughter was eventually diagonsed with possible migraines . To all the drs and nurses in childrens a+e friday 29th november from 6pm i thank you for everything you did you are amazing ~!

Thank you very much for your feedback. This has been passed to the A&E team as well as the managers of the porters. We hope you that your daughter is much better now. Moreblessing Zvorwadza - Matron for A&E.
