My daughter was taken ill last Sunday. After visiting the out of hours GP at st woolos we were immediately admitted to the hospital. Initially we went to the children's a&e and after excellent and attentive care my daughter was given a cot on the bluebell ward.
The nurses were absolutely superb from the moment we arrived. The care they gave to my daughter was as if they were treating there own and nothing was too much trouble.
They worked hard throughout the day and night at what appears to be a very busy period for the ward (a lot of babies with chest infections).
Without having to ask as soon as a room became available the staff moved me to a room with a bed instead of reclining chair so that my stay would be more comfortable too.
They were not only attentive to the needs of my daughter but also made sure that they looked after me reminding me to take some time out so that I stayed healthy for my baby.
The doctors were also excellent and took the time to speak to parents asking if you have any concerns etc.
I am still quite overwhelmed by how hard they worked and what an excellent job they did.
Thank you so much bluebell ward, you made a difficult and emotional time do much easier.
(I am able to provide staff names should these be required for feedback).
