"Experience of child birth at GEH Nuneaton"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Maternity

(as the patient),

After ringing triage for advice I arrived at the maternity unit at tea time. I was taken straight through to a room with my husband. I was allocated a midwife. I only wanted gas and air...which I was given. I was put a ease by my midwife every step of the way.

When it was time to push I felt a huge confidence in my midwife. The whole birth experience was quick and straight forward. Once my daughter was born at night, the team of midwives were very efficient with the aftercare needed for us both. Including the all important skin to skin.

I was given sufficient time in the labour suite to enjoy the experience as our new little family. By late evening my care in the labour suite was handed over to the maternity ward.

I certainly could not have asked for anything more. The midwives were efficient, caring and extremely focussed!

Thank you to everyone for a fantastic experience!
