"Breast Service"

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

Anything else?

Yesterday I was lucky enough yes lucky enough to have had Breast Surgery at QE11 Hospital. I say lucky because if I had not attended routine Mammogram screening then the surgery I required would have been a lot more traumatic. My second piece of luck came in the fact that everybody I have came into contact with during this difficult time could not have been more caring and compassionate, from the Breast Unit receptionists, nurses, mammographers and volunteers to My wonderful Consultant who from the second I met her put my mind at ease. During my short inpatient stay yesterday I had my third piece of luck in the form of not only myself but my husband being so well cared for in Elizabeth House. Once again everybody we came in contact with could not possibly have done more but I would especially like to thank the ward house keeper for going that extra mile in ensuring that not only I, but that my husband too was cared for.

So pleased to hear of your good experience at our breast unit at the QEII. Undergoing any treatment, whatever the cause, can be a difficult and emotional time for a patient. Our staff understand this, which is why they go that extra mile, day-in and day-out, to provide their patients with great care and real reassurance. But we also know that they will be delighted to read your feedback, which we will get to them asap.
