Anything else?
I have to have blood drawn roughly twice a month, so first off let me say while i do not like needles, i tend to suck it up and get it over and done with, with minimal fuss. Now in the last 6 month i have had my blood drawn by the same nurse about 5 times. And every single time has gone pretty much like this; She lightly ties a tourniquet around my upper arm as if it were an accessory, Surely being so loose it may aswell stay on the table because its doing no good at all. Then she lightly feels for a vein, maybe 2 seconds tops Sometimes clenses my arm, sometimes not And then goes for the kill and wait....misses! Every. Single. Time! While i understand a bit of maneuvering is acceptable as misses happen, blind probing is not as it can cause Nnerve damage. Plus it hurts like a B! And blindly probes around in my arm she does, despite my remarks of "You're hurting me, would you like to take the needle out and try again?" The repose i was not looking for was "Its here somewhere ill find it eventually" Twice i have almost fainted. Now i have the utmost respect for our NHS staff and the majority do a damn good job, but this nurse needs to be retrained. She will cause someone nerve damage one day. I have no doubts of that
