"Unbelievable stupid hospital rules"

About: Tameside General Hospital

Anything else?

The treatment with my father in this hospital has been full of false promises each time he has been in this hospital. He is in his 80,s with vascular dementia and is very distressed indeed. When he is in hospital he gets extremely distraught and it is hard to see him like this. I don't live in the area and am disabled and cannot get up to the hospital to see my dad, however the staff won,t tell me anything unless I go up in person which I have explained I can't do. However it dosnt make any difference. It's disgusting.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. As a Trust we are here to protect our patients and be confidential on giving out information. I am sorry that your experience during this time was not satisfactory. This is certainly not the standard of care we expect for our patients. Please can I ask that you contact PALS on 0161 922 4466, or email Pals@tgh.nhs.uk so we support you and your father to assist in a more planned admission pathway

Kind regards,

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at
