"Equipment not available in Breast Clinic "

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I arrived on time for an appointment in the clinic, having driven from North Norfolk (Melton Constable) - hardly a local trip.

Having waited nearly an hour (which I know is normal for this clinic, as I have unfortunately had to attend several times before) I was finally seen by my consultant and a student.

After his initial examination, he said I would have a mammogram and a scan but not today as the equipment had been taken out of service early and I would be given a new appointment for a couple of weeks time.

What a complete waste of time this whole procedure was. I have wasted time and money on petrol and parking and now have to wait for another appointment to be arranged and possibly go through the same procedure all over again. Who is to say that the equipment will be working next time I come?
