Anything else?
On Friday 1st November I had a sudden onset of sight loss in the bottom half of my eyes which slowly returned to normal, followed by a feeling of having a tight band around my temples which was still happening on Sunday afternoon. I was due to fly out to Cyprus on Wednesday 6th. I went to my GP on Monday morning as I was concerned with how I felt. I had urgent blood tests and advised not to fly until all the tests had been completed. She referred me to TAIRU. I was now prepared to cancel my flight. I telephoned TAIRU on Tuesday morning and explained I had been referred, but I was hoping to go on holiday and was enquiring as to when I might be seen. The secretary was really helpful and said she would speak to someone and call back. I was amazed to get a call shortly after to ask if I could be at Torbay hospital that afternoon.I had an MRI scan, a carotid scan, an ECG and blood pressure check. I then saw the consultant who gave me the good news that he diagnosed migraine, and wished me a happy holiday, as did his assistant. I wanted to say how wonderful everyone was and I could not have received better care from all departments (unfortunately I do not know their names). They were friendly, concerned and totally professional. I am so very grateful. The consultant was in danger of having a big hug for all his kindness! A lovely man. Patricia Phillips.
"A bif thank You to Torbay Hospital."
