About: The Bradgate Mental Health Unit

Anything else?

when it comes to mental health i would not recommend this community mental health team. They only seem to have one psychiatrist on board permanently and no on board help for people in need . They have a crisis team that in my experience are only willing to give help if you are going to kill yourself. There are no out of hours except the hospital A and E which cannot deal with mental health patients efficiently The psychiatrist has no care for it's patients and doesn't spend enough time reading the notes and information given. There needs to be more respect towards patients from receptionists, and longer time slots for patients. The waiting room however is clean and tidy.

Hi Sarah, we are sorry to hear that your experience with one or more of our teams seems has been an unhappy one for you. We can see from your post that you have received care from us recently and we want to provide feedback to the people concerned. This will help us to make sure we’re doing all we can to make the patient experience the best it can be. Unfortunately without further information from you we cannot take this further - we have a number of locality community mental health teams, which cover the whole of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, All of our teams include qualified community psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists and at least one consultant psychiatrist. Our crisis resolution and home treatment (CRHT) service provides support for people experiencing a severe mental health crisis who would otherwise need admission to an adult mental health inpatient ward. We would like to reassure you that we are currently working with colleagues from University Hospitals Leicester to expand the 24 hour support we provide in A&E for patients who have self harmed. If you would like us to follow up for you can I ask that you contact our customer services team, if you haven’t done so already. Out trained advisers will offer you confidential support, advice and information, feed back your concerns to the appropriate people and keep you updated on the outcome, including any actions we take as a result. You can email them at customerservices@leicspart.nhs.uk or ring them between 9am and 5pm on weekdays – tel: 0116 295 0830 or 0831.
