About: Emersons Green NHS Treatment Centre

Anything else?

I was dreading this. I've experienced and observed some extremely undignified, unsanitary and unnecessarily rude and inadequate NHS treatment. This was so not the case at this facility. It was great to be able to park nearby. My husband had a comfortable wait in the cafe area while I was undergoing colonoscopy. I was met in the waiting area by a member of staff, who took me to the examination room and explained the procedure. I appreciated that she was concise without talking baby talk. She was cheerful and well informed. You can't assume this. I told her I was always cold and she was prepared for this and had a warmed blanket ready and waiting. After I had changed into the hospital gown, the doctor came in asked a few questions and explained what he would be doing. He gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He painlessly inserted the needle. I then met another member of staff, who told me about her own experiences to reaasure me. The procedure was not uncomfortable during or after. It's not the most dignified exam, but the staff did their best to ensure it was as dignifies as possible. Afterwards I was offered a drink and the doctor informed me of the results. I would certainly recommend this centre.
