My experience of my care during a recent orthopaedic operation was excellent. From attending for my surgery, being welcomed into the access lounge, prepared for surgery to being taken to the ward following my operation, the whole process was so well organised and ran so smoothly with no delays. All staff where friendly and caring from the doctors and nurses to the support staff. I arrived on the ward following my surgery and was attended to with great care and attention. I do feel that the policy of limiting visitors the day of operation is such a good idea as I really didn't feel up to having a lot of visitors. The care I received on the ward was excellent. The nursing staff are so attentive, pain relief is offered frequently and there was excellent care provided by the physiotherapy staff who attend the ward every day to assist and advise you to do the exercises to improve recovery. Follow-up care is great, out- patients appointments and physio staff are all professional and attentive. Overall I would recommend this department and hospital.
