"Parking problems remain unresolved"

About: Hillingdon Hospital

Anything else?

Yet again I had to wait over 20 minutes to get into the car park because there is insufficient parking for patients and yet again I saw elderly people on two sticks having to walk through traffic as they "baled out" of there cars stuck in the car park queue in the main road, rather then risk missing their appointment. With all respect to the CEO for teh last 18 months I think I speak for thousands of patients in saying it is a great shame that this problem, which has continued for years, is as bad as ever.

We were very sorry to hear about the problems you had accessing and parking on the site. The Trust is very aware of the road access issues caused by a growing demand for parking spaces on the hospital site. Within the finite space it has available the Trust is actively looking at options for increasing the availability of parking spaces on the hospital site, subject to funding and local authority planning consent. We want to encourage more patients, visitors and our staff to use public transport wherever possible to access the site and our services as we are well served by public transport from the surrounding areas. However, we do also appreciate that the hospital car parks are under considerable pressure and apologise for the inconvenience that you have experienced. Steve Wedgwood - Head of Facilities
