"Many of the staff in the delivery ..."

About: Worthing Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked:

Many of the staff in the delivery suite are patient, kind and understanding, but not all. The staff in theatre during my emergency c-section were fantastic especially the anaethatist who was reassuring and kind. The staff on Beech Ward are amazing and should be commended on their fantastic level of care and dedication!

What could be improved? The midwives on Bramber ward are clearly over-stretched, but there are huge differences in the care from midwife to midwife. I had a really unpleasant experience during my second pregnancy with one midwife who was condecending, uncaring and very rude, so much so that I was considering having my baby elsewhere at 37 weeks pregnant because of her treatment, even though I was booked in to have a c-section there the following week. Worthing needs more midwives, and they need to be reminded that the women on the ward are human, scared, often in pain and a little kindness goes a long way. I would not choose to have another baby at Worthing.
