"I visited neurology in June 2013"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

Anything else?

I have secondary progressive M.S. I saw the m.s. specialist nurse because my condition has deteriorated only to to be told that whilst they could control the pain in my limbs nothing could be done about the spasticity. I got very upset my husband was with me at the time and he looked shocked, the nurse was wonderful she let me cry , and curse! then we sat and talked we discussed the benefit of an occupational health visitor coming out to see me and assess me. Nearly 4 months later i am pleased to say an occupational health visitor came out and was so helpful and friendly and with her help I am going to get the right equipment let me lead an independent life in my own home. I just want to say thank you very much to these two lovely and caring ladies a big thank you as. Well to everybody be hind the scenes for their help also. Well done Sunderland Royal Hospital .

Thank you for the comments regarding our MS specialist nurse and a member of the occupational therapy team and am pleased that their interventions have had such a positive outcome at what must be clearly a distressing time for you. I will of course forward your comments to the MS specialist nurse and if you would like to send me the name of the Occupational therapist who visited you or indeed your name then I will ensure that that person has sight of your comments. If you would like to identify the individual please contact corporate.affairs@chsft.nhs.uk or if you left your own name at that address I should be able o identify the individual. Many thanks for taking the time to post the comments.
