"Urology - radical prostatectomy"

About: University College Hospital

Anything else?

My husband recently underwent a radical prostatectomy and from the minute we attended the initial consultation, we were quickly booked in for treatment and found all the staff we dealt with, especially the wonderful post operative nurses on the PACU unit, to be top notch. Management of pain relief was always a priority, and as my husband was very anxious after the surgery the nurses were always encouraging and supportive. UCHL is a centre of excellence for this type of treatment and we can see why. The hospital is easily accessible adjacent to Warren St tube and we hope that anyone considering treatment would not be put off by traveling into central London. Also great facilities for relatives and friends who may have to spend a long time on site Great facility too at the macmillion Centre nearby, where some of our appointments were held

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your experience. UCLH was designated the specialist centre for pelvic surgery within the London Cancer network in early 2013. Patients' comments are extremely useful in helping us gauge how we are doing. We are delighted to hear that your experience was a positive one and your comments have been shared with our teams.
