About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

Anything else?

Today I went in to have a consultation with the Consultant about my Fibriod issue which I have now been suffering with since 2009. I was most disappointed at the fact that I was not able to see the consultant, but instead saw his SHO, who was pleasant enough but still she had to leave me in the consulting room to go and ask the consultant questions about what she had reviewed about my condition. Which she stressed that the fibriods had grown alarmingly large. I was most disappointed at the fact that the consultant informed his SHO that he was not going to give me the surgery to remove my uterus, due to the fact that, I was a Jehovah Witness believer, The only treatment he was prepared to give to me was the Uterian embolism or to put me on continuous injections that will bring on the menopause. This is extraordinary and very unsatisfactory it is not the consultant who has to carry a uterus the size of a large water Mellon for the past four years feeling like one is pregnant bust a never ending pregnancy coupled with the heavy periods. What is the NHS coming to when the patient is not listened to, the patient is discriminated because of their believes, and they have to have passive treatment instead of active treatment due to their religion this is appalling and should not be allowed to happen. Sadly it appears that if you are black and have a religion that is not favorable then you miss out!! this has to stop everyone is equal white or black!!! Something has to be done!!
