"My mum's final care at Larkfield Unit in Inverclyde"

About: Larkfield Unit

(as a relative),

My mum died in the Larkfield Unit in October 2013. She was in her sixties and had Alzheimers disease which advanced very rapidly in the 6 months prior to her death. She had been cared for at home until we had to put her into a local care home in early September. It was quite obvious that full time nursing care was needed so she was transferred to the Larkfield Unit.

In the 3 weeks prior to her death, the nurses were brilliant with mum (and the family)and the doctors helped ease some problems that were causing her some pain. She died with her family next to her. We were treated with dignity and respect, as was mum.

We would like to thank the nurses at Larkfield. We felt they really cared.

Thank you for your very kind feedback, I will ensure that the staff at the Larkfield Unit are made aware of your kind remarks.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write at what must be a difficult time and I would also like to pass on my sincere condolences for your loss.
