About: Wexham Park Hospital

Anything else?

Went into A&E with kidney stones only waited in waiting room 20mins. But waited over 2 half hrs for pain relief as no one could find any doctors even the person in charge of major was asking & looking for them. Was left in A&E for 6 half hrs all you see is people walking about doing nothing my husband had to keep asking what was happening. Got admitted to ward 3 later that day. I was told nil by mouth I asked why & no one know why. Next day I was woken by the doctor still half asleep he said you got stones we are going to give you tablets you can go home that was it. Told my husband he was not happy has this was the second time to hospital in two days with bad pain. He phoned the ward to say he thinks I should stay in as I'm not coping with the pain. I was getting ready to leave when I had another pain attack which they give me pain relief for then 30 mins later I was sick everywhere they then said you are not going home today so yes my husband was right.. I was just dozing off at 10.30 that evening when a nurse came over to me & said we have to move you to day surgery ward because we need your bed. I said its 10.30 at night she said you are lucky it's now & not at 3am I told her I have as much right to this bed as anyone else she said no they are medical you are surgical I the said but this is a surgical ward she yes but we need the bed.. I then told her I would rather go home then move so she then brought a self discharge form over which I refused to sign as I was being thrown out my bed not discharging myself. There where 2 nurses on that ward that I can not fault who bent over backwards for you. They could not of been any nicer. That ward is so bad there where other people there that I can't speak for them but it's not good it's need a good shake up.. I would never go there again I would rather travel else where..
