This is a review of my experiences as a patient in Ward 12, at Mid Cheshire Hospital, Leighton, Crewe. I presented myself at Ward 12 at 8.00am on Monday morning, 18/11/13 as requested for major gynaecological surgery. I was greeted politely and taken straight to my bed. Within 40 minutes, I was in the operating theatre anti-room where I met my anaesthetist and consultant surgeon. After surgery I came too in the post-operative care unit and was very well monitored and cared for. By 10.45am I was back in Ward 12 and being looked after by a wonderful team of staff. The care I received was excellent, from both the medical and support staff. I was discharged at 12 noon on Wednesday, 20/11/13 and have to say, my whole hospital experience was a good one. Well done to all at Leighton, but particularly to the dedicated staff on Ward 12. Furthermore, I was able to book my initial consultation the consultant gynaecologist, at my local hospital in Northwich. I found this very convenient. Also, the pre-op appointment I had at Leighton, a few days prior to my admission, was very thorough and reassuring - carried out by a wonderful nurse who was able to answer all my questions and deal with the possible implications of a blood condition which I have. So, a big thank you to all at Leighton Hospital who work so hard to care for their patients. Thank you too to the happy band of volunteers who add that little something extra! You all work as a team and do a great job.
