"Margaret Cutting. August 2013"

About: St Helier Hospital

Anything else?

My Mum was admitted to Epsom hospital on 7th August 2013. Transferred to ITU at St Helier hospital three days later and sadly died August 12th in ITU 24 hours later. From the moment we entered A&E in Epsom we were shown kindness and respect. Fully informed of clinical findings and treatment options. My Mum and us her 4 children were treated with great compassion. I am a nurse and had been very concerned for my Mum and had bought her myself from Ipswich where she lived for a second opinion. I requested various consultants to assess her and give different opinions regarding a diagnosis. My every request was upheld and I know no more could have been done to help my Mum. The last 24 hours of her life were precious and the medical and nursing care given in ITU was exemplary. She died very peacefully. Thank you to all those who cared for her. I and my brothers will feel forever indebted to you. You all know who you are. Our heartfelt thanks, Alison Newton (daughter) and my brothers Nic, Simon and Jonathan Cutting.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback and may we pass on our condolences to you and your family. As a nurse yourself, you will know how important it is to be compassionate and kind, and we are so pleased that your mother received the best care she possibly could and we hope this is of some comfort to you. We will ensure our staff are made aware of your kind feedback. Pippa Hart Director of Nursing
