"Appointment letter from TRAQS stated the wrong hospital"

About: Northern General Hospital / General medicine Royal Hallamshire Hospital / General medicine Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a service user),

I received a letter from TRAQS telling me I had an appointment at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Luckily, I called the hospital to confirm who I was going to see that day. The Hospital told me the appointment is not at RH, it's at the Northern General!

If I didn't call RH I would have gone to the wrong hospital and missed my appointment. I would have wasted time and money because I'd be traveling from Telford to Sheffield.

RH told me to tell TRAQS. Called TRAQS and the computers were down, so they couldn't do anything. It seemed to me they thought the RH was at fault.

I don't care whose to blame. Somebody needs to take responsibility and sort this out! Passing the buck doesn't help and I'm stuck in the middle!

Thank you for sharing your comment.

I appreciate your comments but the information TRAQS print off for the patient is provided electronically on a National booking system by the hospital themselves. Therefore TRAQS cannot possibly be aware of where each hospital holds its clinics and relies upon the hospitals providing the service to record the correct information.accurately and to amend that information if it changes.

Most patients choose to be seen locally and TRAQS has local knowledge to ensure that they are advised which hospital to attend. However, when patients choose to be seen outside the local area I am sure you can appreciate that with the best will in the world TRAQS cannot be expected to be aware of every hospital providing a service on Choose and Book in England.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your comments with the TRAQS team we appreciate all comments.
