Having visited a family member over the course of the last year, I am in despair over the lack of compassion, care and interest the staff have in the patients. The management of this hospital need to be held to account for allowing such incompetence and distain shown by the disinterested nursing staff who seem to regard the more needy patients as enemies.

Dear James I am very disappointed to hear about the experience you have had and very concerned about your observations of the hospital. I have looked through our records to try and establish if any concerns about the matter you have raised have been logged but have not found anything. I was hoping to identify the particular ward you were referring to. We strongly encourage carers and patients to raise concerns directly with us so we can ensure they are dealt with without delay. I am regularly in touch with friends and family of service users and commit to resolving problems, aiding understanding and addressing concerns they may have. l certainly would like to afford the same opportunity to you and your relatives. I aspire to deliver standards of care that I would expect for my own family members. If I or my team are failing in that, then I need to know about it.
