Anything else?
I accompanied my 87 year old mother to the Gainsborough Clinic last week where she had an iron infusion, a procedure which takes a number of hours to complete. My mother has severe mobility difficulties following a stroke and is also diabetic. She is totally dependent on others to meet all of her most basic needs when she is away from her home environment. Throughout the day, the care provided by staff nurses was excellent. They were both very kind and caring and anticipated and attended to mum's needs with patience and good humour at all times. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to provide the required assistance in a way that preserved her personal dignity. My mother had been very apprehensive about attending her hospital appointment, mainly due to anxiety about whether her disability needs would be adequately met. She was very happy with the care provided and, as a result, will be much less apprehensive if she has to attend for a similar treatment in future.
